Ball of Energy

You can tell in this picture that my husband Josh is a ball of energy. He wears me out some times. Here is just an example. We bought our house a little over a year ago. It was built in 1959 and needed alot of work. It had pop corn ceilings, wood paneling on the walls, out dated bathrooms and kitchen and needed alot of work. So, we got a great price for it. Well, in one year, we have gotten all the pop corn off the ceilings, re did hard wood floors and made them look like new, knocked down 3 walls to open up the living room to the dining room to the kitchen, we put in a whole new kitchen with brand new appliances, re did the guest bathroom from top to bottom, re did the office and added french doors that open up into the living room, painted the whole house, did crown molding and foot board through out the whole house. Aren't you getting tired. There is more! We ripped out everything that was in the back yard and re planted and re did the look of the back yard. Added a flat screen TV above the fire place and had a it built into a beautiful mantle and tiles the rest. Then we moved to the front yard and ripped out everything in the front yard and started with scratch on that to re plant things that we like and put in a brand new sprinkler system and are now growing grass. This last project just ended on Sat. of last week. As you can tell, that is a lot of work and not all of this has been done by just us. Friends, people we have hired and others. Most people would call that crazy!

Well, last night, J decides he wants to re do our screened in patio. I almost flipped out. He had someone come and look at it and get an idea of how much time and money it would take. So, afterwards I drew out my white flag and told him that I need a break, a rest. I want to be able to enjoy my home that I pay to much for each month here in sunny san diego. I don't want to have to clean up dust and mud and everything else that gets in the house from working. I want to pull my car into the garage and not have a work bench and tools set up. So, we came to a comprise. We aren't going to start any projects until after Memorial Day weekend! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's not a long break but it's a break and if you lived with him you would know that that is a long break for him! I'm sure between now and then he will have everything bought and it will just be sitting there ready to be worked on. But for now I REST IN PEACE!

8th Grade BFF

The craziest thing happened to me yesterday. Well, all week I kept thinking about an old friend of mine that I had in Ecuador. In the 8th grade we were the best of friends. Every weekend either I would stay at her house or she would stay at mine. We played basketball together, we both had our first serious boyfriends then and we were very similar in so many ways. We had the best year ever. Then at the end of 8th grade Laura's family got moved back to the US. To Indiana. We were so sad. We kept in touch for the next couple years by e-mail and then sending packages back and forth. I think we did the mix tape thing back then. We didn't have the cool phone systems that we have now or facebook or myspace to keep in touch. So we lost touch. I always wonder about her and some times through the grape vine I would hear little things about how she was doing and I'm sure she heard the same about me. Well, yesterday she found me on Facebook! We haven't really talked since 8th grade. We have been messaging back and forth and is bringing back so many great memories. She is married and has a daughter. And in my eyes she is still my best friend from 8th grade! Maybe we'll talk on the phone soon and friendship will come full circle!

Old Friends that are more like family

Well, on Sat. I had the privileged to go out to brunch with 4 of my closets friends. We are so close that we are pretty much family. We have all grown up together in Ecuador. Bekah, I have known since she was 2 and I was 3. Jen I have known since 9th grade, Mandi since 8th grade and Bethany since 8th grade. We all live here in San Diego and attend church together but it rare that we all get to spend time all together. Sat. we were all together and we had a great time! We were laughing about people in our past, what we looked like in the past and all the things that come along with living in a different country. I don't get to see these girls that often and we rarely get together just us but it is so comforting to know that I have girls friends that know of my past, present and future! They are the best and it's the best when you don't have to say a thing, they just know! Love you girls!

Crazy Weekend!!!!!!!

Well, this past weekend was really crazy for us. We had way to much packed in but it was all really fun stuff. I'm just glad to say that this weekend and week we are just staying home and relaxing and not spending any money. Fun things take money too!

Friday night was my birthday. So, Josh took me out to a really cute Italian restraunt in DT La Jolla called Piatti. So good! We each had a glass of wine and then had some amazing food that we kept making the other try. Then we drove over to La Valencia hotel where my brother got married and they have a bar that over looks the ocean. We were just going to hang out and relax for a little while when a paino player showed up and played some of the best songs! We just sat and listened. Then we met up with my girl friend Vy and her husband for desert and coffee! Such a fun night.

Sat I spent preparing my house to host 40 people for a suprise Engagement Party for Devin and Geoff. Devin lived with us for a year and we have become very close. Goeff is on staff at our church and an amazing guy. He has become like family too since he was over alot when Devin lived with us. So, it was not a thought in my mind to host this party for them. They had gotten engaged earlier in the day in Temecula at a winery. I called her and we were screaming on the phone about it and I convinced her to stop by our house to show me her ring. Well, she had no idea that we had her whole family drive down from Anaheim and he closed friends. She was so suprised and was bawling her eyes out. I was so happy to host and we had a great time. As you can see in these pictures Austin was over having people around. He was ready for bed.

Sunday I did not go to church. The good pastor let me stay home. I had a ton of cleaning up to do. So, I did all that. I had to hand wash 40 champagne glasses and wine glasses so I was very busy. Then I went to my girlfriend Tara's birthday. We had a blast. Then I just crashed the rest of the afternoon and rented a movie Sunday night! It was much needed.
Monday night we celebrated my birthday at a place called Wine Steals. It's a very cool wine bar but has a coffee house type setting with large sofas and chairs to just sit around. I had about 25 friends come and celebrate with me. It was cork free night for any bottle of wine and $2 slices so we couldn't beat that. I had a blast! I got to spend time with everyone and then open gifts! I added a few pictures from this. It was a great time and I am ready for this next year. 28 is going to be a big year for me in so many ways! This week I'll be resting and recovering from what you can clearly see as a crazy weekend!
All these pictures were taken from my new camera that I got for my birthday from my parents Josh and The Hotsenpillers. Thank you!

Some history on us.

Here are just a few things you need to know before I begin to write.

We have a beagle basset named Austin. When we bought him his paper work said full beagle but as you can see that is a lie! But we love him and he is a lover.

Josh and I have been married for 5 years and we just bought our first house. I have added a picture of that too. When we bought it was still in it's orginal shape from 1950. It had the sagg carpet, the wood paneling on the walls and popcorn ceiling. It's been one year that we have been in it and we have done a ton of work. We only have 1 bathroom left that is the orginal. Everything else has been re done!

Also, this is a picture of my preacher husband. He is good if I do say so myself. I love listening to him preach. And no I do not hear it before everyone else. How boring would that be. I love hearing it for the first time with everyone else. He talks about me and when he does he often makes me sound like I am black but I am okay with that. I also added a picture of all our staff from church. What a group. A bunch of fun crazy people. I also sing. I had to try and fit into the pastors wife mold some how but that is pretty much as far as I'll be molded.

I work a full time job as a Director of Marketing for a Physical Therapy company here in town. I love my job. I do a lot of lunch with Drs and their staff, I do cold calls, drive alot and take care of numbers for our clinics. It's different every day so I love it.

Other then that the rest you will find out along the way!
